Important Notes
Upon arrival in Mysore, meet our tour representative who will escort you to the hill station of Ooty, the “Queen of the Nilgiris.” After checking into your hotel and relaxing, head to Ooty Lake, where you can enjoy a paddleboat ride on the tranquil waters flanked by pine trees. The twilight ambiance of the lake is perfect for leisurely walks or cycling by the banks. Overnight stay in Ooty.
Begin your day with a visit to the Government Botanical Garden, a 22-acre paradise home to over a thousand exotic plants and the 20-million-year-old fossilized tree. Continue to the Rose Garden, one of Asia’s largest, with an explosion of colors from 20,000+ rose varieties. Board the Nilgiri Mountain Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage train, for a nostalgic ride to Coonoor, winding past tea estates and misty hills. Later, drive up to Doddabetta Peak (8,650 ft), the highest in the Nilgiris, for panoramic views of Ooty town. Overnight stay in Ooty.
Spend the day as you please. Visit local attractions such as St. Stephen’s Church, the Thread Garden, or simply wander through the lively Charring Cross Market for handmade chocolates and Nilgiri oils. Optionally, enjoy a scenic drive to Pykara Lake and Waterfalls, where boating amidst pine forests and gushing falls makes for a magical afternoon. Overnight stay in Ooty.
Check out and embark on a scenic drive to Coorg, also called Kodagu, the Scotland of India. After settling in, visit the Dubare Elephant Camp along the banks of the River Cauvery. Watch as mahouts feed, wash, and train the elephants—an interactive experience perfect for all ages. Enjoy the evening at leisure amid the coffee-scented breeze. Overnight stay in Coorg.
Your Coorg exploration begins at the thundering Abbey Falls, nestled deep within coffee plantations. Then visit Raja’s Seat, a charming garden where Kodava kings once watched the sunset. From there, head to Talacauvery, a sacred spring believed to be the source of the River Cauvery, set high in the Brahmagiri Hills. Complete the spiritual circuit at Bhagmandala, where three rivers converge and a beautiful temple stands in reverence. Overnight stay in Coorg.
After breakfast, drive back to Mysore, a city of palaces and pride. Explore the dazzling Mysore Palace, lit with stained glass, mirror halls, and ivory-paneled doors—testament to the city’s Wodeyar legacy. Ascend Chamundi Hill to seek blessings at the Chamundeshwari Temple and gaze upon the entire city below. In the evening, stroll through Devaraja Market, buzzing with sandalwood, silk, and spice. Overnight stay in Mysore.
Depending on your flight or train timing, visit St. Philomena’s Church, a striking neo-Gothic cathedral with soaring spires and stained glass, before your transfer to the airport or railway station. Depart with warm memories and the aroma of coffee still clinging to your senses. Tour ends.
